Urban95 Learning Exchange – Learnings from Indore & Rourkela

The webinar highlighted the success stories of 2 winning cities from the Nurturing Neighbourhoods Challenge – Rourkela and Indore, who worked on scaling play areas in vulnerable communities to support the needs of young children and families. The two cities each have adopted context specific approaches to scaling such family friendly public spaces, while Rourkela has focused on scheme- convergence as a financial, operation and maintenance model for scale-up, Indore has tapped into community support for ensuring operation and maintenance and has regulated the supply of wooden (natural) play equipment's in public spaces by setting up a carpentry workshop.
